Once again we kick started the year with our Scottish Night, this
time at the Tithe Barn
In June were the inaugural presentations of The Players Café Bar.
The Audiences and the Players had great fun raising money for the Leonard
Cheshire Home in Leckhampton and for the Joshua Foundation at the United Reform
Church in Warden Hill.
In July we presented Medieval Sixties Millennium Mayhem at the
Bishop’s Cleeve Street Fair where Medieval Pirates met Pirates from Radio
Caroline with a musical theme ranging from the early 19th Century to
the Number One Hit in July this year.
In September and October we
continued our successful tour of the Players Café Bar at Bushley Village
Hall in aid of Maggie’s Cancer Care, and at Southam Village Hall, Gretton
Village Hall and Gloucestershire Farmers Club in aid of Cotswold Prostate
Cancer Support Group
In November we produced A Family Show in the Jungle in aid of Children in Need
and in December we did one more Player’s Café
Bar at
Wotton Hall Barnwood for the John Hopkins Trust before launching our programme
of Christmas Entertainments at Longford Village Hall, Prestbury W.I. and
Denley Hall.
What happened in 2010
We began in February with our Scottish Night which continues to be
increasingly popular.
May saw a Spring production at St. Michael’s and in June we had great
fun at the Street Fair packing in our performance of BCP Radio and narrowly
avoiding the later dramatic torrents of water when the heavens opened.
Our Autumn events began in October with Harvest Home at the Tithe Barn followed
by the Woodmancote and Bishops Cleeve Horticultural
Society.
We soon threw ourselves into
a hectic Christmas timetable including Gloucester Civil Service Club, Leonard Cheshire
Home, St. Michael’s Hall and the American Square Dance Club in Charlton Kings.
